just curious.... trying to regain use of my wifi/3g switch for my 3g card, i downgraded my d250 back to original (1.02) and changed a setting in the platform.ini file to reset everything. well, system still works, switch still not working for 3g card and in the bios, it no longer shows the system's serial or uuid.

anyone have any idea on restoring this info?

Where is this platform.ini file located?

Did you see "reset defaults" as a selection in the Bios configuration pages?

wish i didn't leave my d250 at home :( as i just found the d150 service manual... and the answer to my problem is a program called dmitools, which i just downloaded!

it allows you to add/change manufacturer name, model, copy uuid, enter serial, etc for the bios.

i'll try it out when i get home (in about 9 hours) and i'll tell everyone if it worked!

    well..... dmitools WORKS!
    uploaded it here http://rapidshare.com/files/256988654/D ... s.rar.html
must be run from a dos boot disk!

you can change the manufacturer name, model name, serial # (usefull if you replaced you mobo and want the serials to match) and replace the uuid!
the link contains the d150 service manual as well as it contains the instructions for dmitools
