My AOD150 came with the Acer Bios v1.02. I see from the forums that v1.05 is available, at least in Europe. Is there reason to upgrade the Bios at the time? Has anyone attempted this?

You can view the changes made to the latest bios viewing this post but the poster states no real meaningful change:

    Code:

In practice, you don't need to update the bios or any drivers unless there is a meaningful fix or changes that solve a problem or make something function better. Many times drivers that aren't the latest are fine. As long as everything is working as it should there's usually no reason to update. Sometimes updating just for the sake of updating could actually lead to other problems.

I personally like having my bios up to date, so id say go for it. The 1.05 bios updater allows u to update the bios while in windows so its fairly easy, but do so at your own risk.(make sure the battery is somewhat charged and power cable plugged into the wall, and dont do anything while its updating. The odds are on your side, besides it only takes like 1-2 minutes to update and maybe another minute to reboot. Easy as cake and does not void your warranty as long as you dont brick it. Once again, do so at your own risk.
