Super-noob question here - but when and why should you install a bios update?

Is this is something that you should always do as a matter of course whenever a new version becomes available?

What does updating the bios actually mean/do? Does it provide support for new hardwar, or other benefits? Could it cause problems?

I notice that the most recent bios version for the AAO 110 on the Acer Europe website is v.3309, while my system information informs me I currently have v.3109:

    ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/netbook/as ... _110/bios/

Should I update it? Or is it a case that if it ain't broke don't fix it?

    Hi El Matarife,

No I would defiantly not update unless you are experiencing any screen issues, which a Bios update addressed.

I to am still running Bios V.3109 with an XFCE desktop and have no problems, as you so rightly said if it is not broke don't fix it. :D
