Typical. I spend weeks learning Linux and getting my One working just the way I want it, now I have just tried to switch it on, and its dead! Just a black screen, no SSD, and a whining fan.. Shame, I was liking the machine even after much pulling of hair setting it up. Back to PC World for a refund it goes..

You have tried the BIOS reflash solution, have you, before sending it back? It seems to work for most people who try it.

You should not have to reflash the BIOS. If it happened to mine I would want to return it even if the reflash worked.

Your choice; I'd rather take the easy solution and keep the machine.

Ok, I have run the BIOS recovery routine, then reflashed with BIOS v3305, and everything is well.. so far!

Thanks for the advice folks, was sure I had a dead machine, and the black screen experience doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I'll persevere though!
