Linpus is a version of Fedora linux optimised for netbooks. It is possible to install many different operating systems on the aspire, such as Windows, or various linux distributions. I myself run Ubuntu linux.

Blender will run on the machine. I don`t know if it is available in the fedora 8 software repository or not - but the latest version can be downloaded and installed manually from the blender website - the download comes with a helpful html installation guide.
I would recommend installing from the fedora / ubuntu / debian repo though, if available.

You can run blender. For now, there are two versions available in the repository: 2.48a ad 2.45. If you install blender from repository, the system automatically installs all the necessary dependancies. But there can arise a problem if your mesa packages are old, in this case look here: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=8590
If your keyboard is not english, then perhaps keyboard shortcuts for blender will not work. In this case make english keyboard layout your default.
