When I try to boot my acer aspire one, it says No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key

Why dose it say that, and how can I fix it? The operating system is Windows XP.

I have the same problem, I think I'm on my way to solving it. 1st try your recovery disk or usb, if you don't have one get a usb and install ubuntu on it and run ubuntu don't install ubuntu just run it. After that run testdisk use thier step by step help page. Hopefully that will fix your problem, mine was a litle different but this helped me greatly. Check out this link.
