    Hey gang,

I noticed when i was fiddling around on the bios that in the boot menu screen, there's an option to boot off the card reader. This wasn't the case with the old 8.9" series which was a big dissapointment as some will say, but it's apparently been implemented from the looks of it into the 751H.

So has anyone tried loading an OS, something of a linux nature I would assume, onto a class 6 SD card and had a go?

    Quick how to for Ubuntu:

    1) On Aspire One: enable F12 boot menu in BIOS
    2) On another PC (or Live CD boot) : create bootable Ubuntu Jaunty SD Card
(in Ubuntu: System > Administration > USB Startup Disk Creator)
    3) put SD card in Aspire One
    4) hit F12 and choose card reader at boot time

This will not touch your Windows install. You'll need at least a 2GB SD card.

I've been doing a lot of reading and it seems that the GMA 500 chipset is not supported by many of the current linux distros out there...which really makes booting of it silly as an OS such as windows would just die if we used an SD card to install it on...

I think there's a little hope for Fedora 11 however. I might get a chance this weekend to fiddle around with it once i get my new 16gb SD card :D
