I've got the A150, it came with a 160GB HDD and Linux installed.

I've since installed Windows XP Pro SP2, and everything is working great, except the brightness control. I've put the hotkey driver on it, and all of the hotkeys are working fine exept the brightness control (Fn + side arrows).

    Please help!

    Thanks.

It does seem to be working now, but the lowest level is still very bright.

Unfortunately this appears to be normal. I have a new A110X here with WinXP preinstalled and have only 5-6 settings available, the lowest one still very bright. I believe this depends on the BIOS version that does not allow any darker settings - most likely because of the flickering issue they had earlier with low level settings.

    Regards

    Guido

3114 was the last bios that let you go down noticeably in brightness. Unfortunately, it also has the BIOS boot problem which will require using the recovery bios procedure to get a working AAO again.

I've updated the BIOS to 3308 now, and it does seem a bit better.
