I bought a Aspire One D255E to do my taxes, and the sucker broke the third day of owning it. I loaded up all my audiobooks to boot from my Itouch- and that was stolen the day prior to this laptop breaking! So- I'm left with this as my only means of doing taxes and salvaging my old files. It appears to still work outside of the obvious no screen issue.

I search here, and it lists three different kinds of screen for this model. I don't know which one to pick, because I can't find it anywhere on the computer- the last serial numbers:

Screen compatible with Acer ASPIRE ONE D255E-13899
Screen compatible with Acer ASPIRE ONE D255E-1802
Screen compatible with Acer ASPIRE ONE D255E-13639

I only know it's a D255E. I don't have enough to buy a new one, and have no intention of losing my information by returning it. I saw a video on how to pop these things in and out on youtube, and think I should be able to handle it. Does it matter which one? Will any of these work? Will ANY display work? Could I theoretically have a 10foot by 10foot screen attached to this and it still run?

Seriously, I am deeply in need of knowing if only one of these work, or all three screens? I have only 80 bucks to drop on this, and need it done before Tax season is over here in the US, which is April 14 or 15..... unless someone knows of a computer repair shop willing to fix it for that much in San Francisco?

The black sticker on the bottom of your netbook will tell you what model it is, right next to where it says "Model No." Eg. My D250 is a KAV60, otherwise if you're using a stock-factory install, right click on My Computer and goto properties and it should tell you what model you've got. Otherwise at a guess I'd say any LCD panel that says it's compatible with a D255E would be compatible with a D255E

I would love to go into my computer, but I can't make sense of the screen.

I'm hoping that any of the three will work on the model- don't see why they should have three different versions of screen for essentially the same thing.

How about the sticker on the bottom of the netbook? Does it mention your specific model number?

As for the My Compter thing, you can always use the blue VGA port on the side of the netbook to plug into a standard LCD (if you have one) or a TV that supports VGA input.

It's one of the 130000 series ones, I'll double check once I get back home- I didn't notice those numbers previously, thinking it had nothing to do with the serial number needed for the LCD.... very stupid me.

I am wondering if this VGA Import thing would work with a DVD player? HMMMM....

Nope, on the AAO it's output only.
