*wonders what's wrong with the stock ethernet connection*

So, what's wrong with the stock ethernet card? Have not heard any complaints about it so far...

there is nothing wrong with it.. i just move very large files around and they take so much more time.i am just wondering if this would work .
also when i am doing an image backup if i had gigabit , it would be alot faster.

my question is could this be done?

Gotcha...I thought you meant Gigabit, like the brand name. On that note, I will have to look into it more to accurately answer your question.

Note: The link you provided didn't work the first time I tried it, thus my confusion...

Really not sure what/how you could upgrade the ethernet. What I can determine from the Acer Tech Manual, the ethernet port is soldered onto the motherboard. That's what it looks like to me.

I will look for sure over the weekend if my HD enclosure arrives tomorrow. I'll have to pull out my MOBO anyway, and would not mind researching this more up close for you.

Surely someone will chime in who knows off the top of their head.
