I have the opportunity to get a very good price on a 8G SSHD verion with Linux. What I'm wondering is, can I just buy this version and install a hard drive of choice and then install Windows XP? I have several HDs sitting around and several copies of Win XP.

    Thanks!

Basically yes, but with some limitations.

    1. The SSD drive of the One is a 1.8" drive with a ZIF connector not IDE or SATA.
    2. Normal 2.5" laptop HDD won't fit the chassis of the SSD One, the HDD/XP One has a chassis with more space for the bigger HDD.

Conclusion: If you have/get a 1.8" ZIF HDD, you can swap out the SSD and use the HDD to install XP. Windows itself will run without problems on the One.
