I have a model with a 160gb hd. I was thinking about dualbooting, or moving the OS over to a SSD. Is that possible?

Ubuntu 9.04 makes partitioning the 160gb HDD very easy (and low risk). I agonized over doing this, and was surprised how easy it was when I finally screwed up the courage to partition the HDD. For the Linux partition choose ext3 (journalled) and at least 2gb swap space for Linux.

You can also install Linux on an 8gb or larger SDHC card or USB memory stick (although the latter will jut out from the case).

I got an aoa150 and I'm also thinking of buying off a used 4gb ssd drive or from an sdhc card. In the bios, can you configure the netbook to book from either ssd, hard drive, or the sdhc card? Maybe I can put ubuntu or mac osx in it. Thanks.

Guys. There is no room for HDD and SSD. Also you going to need to solder ZIF connector to have SSD or SATA to have HDD.

SD boot is not available in AA1...

Correction - SD card booting is not available on the AAO A-series (8.9" screen). It IS available on the D-series (10.1" screen).

True. I can not disagree - they did not put AA1 model in any of the posts...

Has anybody tried installing an PCI-based SSD into a D250? I'm seeing many 8GB units on ebay that originally were in Dell minis, and removed for larger units. Will these work in a D250?

So far no luck trying one of the Dell 8GB SSD devices. Anybody have any suggestions? I have not been able to find a driver that I think would work.
