Can the AAO be over-clocked? ...

    Has anyone done this successfully? I don't plan on it, just curious. ;-)

    Would the limitation be the Atom processor? Or the BIOS and chipset?

    Search is your friend.

    No one has done it, and it looks like its not going to be possible to do so in the short term.
    It is a hardware limitation of the 945 apparently. However, with time, who knows..

    You can do a search on google for it. I was reading about it just yesterday but can't recall the site or I'd give you the link. Anywho, folks are getting stable 2.0 and occasionally getting 2.1 with memory being the limiting factor. Few memory brands like being run at those speeds necessary. ;)

    It's not a "set it and forget it" deal as the bios won't allow for adjustment like a gaming motherboard. But then for a tiny machine with an even tinier CPU, 1.6 GHz seems plenty. You would lose alot of battery life to extra clock cycles.

    I think the point is to underclock it, not overclock it.
