When I click on "Add" in 'Add Bookmark' (FF2.0.0.14). Nothing happens.

I am new to Linux but thanks to this Forum I was able to identify that Permissions in the xxx.default file were 'None'. When I tried to change Permissions for the Owner (user) to Read and Write a dialogue box said I had failed! I clicked Cancel and tried several times each time receiving the same message. However after re-booting I found that the Permissions had been changed.

The bad news is, I still cannot add bookmarks and am still at Square 1.

In case it is relevant I'll also mention here that I cannot clear Private Data: I click on the tab and again nothing happens. I'll trying searching now for a solution to that but recognise they could be connected.

    Any ideas anyone please?

    Hi erawan,

Not to sure about FF as I use Opera but if similar then all your FF bookmarks, web browsing history, extensions and any other add-ons, should be stored in your profile folder here.

    /usr/lib/firefox2.0.0.14/defaults/profile

Make sure that the bookmarks.html has root permission. Sorry I cant be more helpful.

    Hi Barrie

I have just managed to get back to this forum.

Can you tell me where I might find this file? It doesn't appear to be in My Files.

    Thanks
