cannot control brightness on AA1 110

    i was installing a new set of speakers in my already heavily modified aspire one and when i switched it back on i ended up with a strange problem the fn + <> wont control the screen brightness any more. i have tried in the bios and in 3 different operating systems so i assume its some kind of hardware fault. the keys them selves are working ok both fn button and the arrow keys . i can use the fn + arrows for the volume just not for the brightness.

    any ideas?

    acer aspire one 110
    60gb 1.8" zif drive
    1gb ram
    sierra wireless hsdpa adapter
    broadcom ABG adapter
    internal usb bluetooth
    external rp-sma connector
    altec lansing 1.5w speakers
    XP-MCE/OSX/Backtrack 4

    PROBLEM SOLVED! the cable from the lcd screen was loose where it connects to the motherboard i just gave it a wiggle and its all good now.
