as i understand the only war to open .rar files is to install something called unrar and this will allow xarchiver to open them.

but i cant seem to install unrar, i have tried "sudo yum install unrar"

but i just get the message -
    No package unrar available.
    Nothing to do

    thanks lee

Unrar is not free software, so you won't find it in the Fedora repository. Check out rpmfind.net. It's got links to several versions.

Open a terminal (Alt-F2) and type (without quotes) "rar --help" then hit the enter key.
