Hi can anyone advise? On trying to import pictures on my Acer One (Linux) it finds the camera then tells me that the USB could be in use by something else, but as far as I know it is not. The 1st time on trying to import photos it did not give me that error message but told me that there are no photos on the camera, which obviously they are. Please help I am new to this Linux thing as so far finding it quite confusing!!! Thanks J. White

I have had problems like yours from time to time with various cameras and computers. Fails to "mount the drive" as the computer sees the camera as another hard drive. For some reason, using the cable and connecting the camera to the computer does this. Go to your favorite store such as Staples or Circuit City or order off eBay, either a multi-card reader or the single kind for your storage card that you use in the camera, and then use that. Should be no problem after that. Windows will see the card reader, install the needed drivers and it will appear as a new drive letter along with a brief description in your directory. It can be accessed by Windows built in viewer or any photo program that you may be using. Hope this helps.

OPPS! Forgot that you said Linux OS and not Windows, but it should work the same.
