Can't Change brightness of AAO1

    Model AOA150ab, OS Limpus and tried XP
    Hi all,

    Im wondering if anyone else has seen this fault..

    Ive recently gotten hold of a Acer Aspire one from acerdirect.co.uk and for some reason I cannot change the screen brightness, its stuck on 100%..

    I've tried upgrading the bios to 3810 also tried the gateway bios to no avail... any ideas?

    I've also noticed that sometimes the led backlight turns itself off, but a quick reboot, or close/open lid, restores it..

    I think its faulty, but alas customer service is closed at 5Pm so I need to call them Monday Morning..

    Before that happens any ideas?

    Before you give up hope, do the following :
    Update the bios to the latest version.
    Reload the Linpus OS from the recovery CD.
    If the fault still persist, then you have faulty hardware.

    Hi there,

    thanks for the hope of hope, unfortunatly I've restored the Linpus OS from the DVD, and installed the latest Firmware and alas the same.. with linpus when I press Fn+Left/Right arrow I do get a picture of a "sun" symbol but it goes from a solid sun to a hollow sun with no effect on the screen brightness... Im going to return it tomorrow...
