I bought the XP version (for an extra $20, it seemed a waste not to). I wanted to try out Linpus on a 8GB SATA SSD I had, so I installed the SSD (no problem and I've tried to install Linpus from the recovery CD with an USB CD/DVD reader (finishes but won't boot), tried UBUNTU (finishes but won't boot). Then I suspected the SSD might be bad so I tried to install XP on the SSD and it won't complete the install.

I'm flummoxed. Maybe the SSD is bad or ? Anyone had a similar problem?

    Thanks,

    mike

this might sound obvious, but it's tripped me up a few times. Is the boot order correct and are you leaving any of those other devices connected?

there really is no reason the new SSD wouldn't work, the stock one isn't anything special. Just double check everything.
