Can't start the Networking application??

    Hi All
    Can any give me a clue as to why I can't start the Network Centre Application in the Preferences in my Acer Aspire One ( linux). I need to alter the network setting for my works office, but cannot connect by wired or wireless connection.

    When I try and open the Network Centre, the app seems like its going to start, but never opens. All the other app open and work OK. Tried reboot and multiple power off, nothing works! Other than not connecting it work perfectly.

    Help!
