Can't unistall Macafee

    Brand new 8.9" with XP, trying to uninstall McAfee so I can put my AV client on but can"t uninstall trial version of mcafee. Can't launch their soiftware either, just get pop-up window with "M" in upper left corner and "X" in upper right corner. Rest of window is blank.

    Just got this netbook today and didn't expect this. Should i just send it back? Don't feel like going through recovery for a virgin acer. I have another 8.9 and a 10.1 that did not behave like this, both allowed me to unistall mcafee without issue.

    Can't use "Add/Remove Programs" - same result. Have to reload OS out of the box?

    Ideas?

    You need the removal tool! http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507 this link will help you out! That was the first thing I dumped when I bought mine. After you get rid of that search "Flashpoint" on this site it will be the best speed up tool for these SSD laptops!
