"Il Grande Bianco (talvolta Blu) Speranza" I would imagine.

Thought Police aside, I can't believe this is an issue. I think it's clear what we're all here to talk about.

Yeah, One is capitalized all over the website, e.g. front page:
"Welcome to the world of the Aspire One"
"This site is optimized for the Aspire One at 1024x600"

And just about everywhere else where it is written in standard font on the website.

AA1 seems the logical abbreviation and it's what I'll use.
When (if) Acer launch newer models - Aspire Two, Aspire Three etc, the abbreviations would be AA2, AA3.

Funny as your answer is, Acer is a Taiwanese company despite the tie up with Ferrari. I don't know how to say Great White Hope in Chinese though (your Italian is almost certainly better than my Chinese).

I don't think anyone really thinks this is much of an issue but I suppose we are all curious as to what people call their Ones and why.

I think I like this idea best. A1 has too many meanings, you'll definitely confuse people who don't own one. AAO is OK, but like Tomsk says, it would be a problem if Acer introduces other models; AAT would be ambiguous. In the proper context (this site), I think just "One" would be fine too.
