i have a 2009 Lancer GTS and have been thinking for a while of putting my AOD250 to good use!
its running Ubuntu 9.04 so far i did a remote start button and next i would love to do a touchscreen to go along with the book.
however i do not want the touchscreen to replace the current LCD, this would be more of an external touchscreen that would come on along with the car (i've been thinking of mounting the book either on the trunk or under the passenger seat.

what do you think would be my best course of action, this or just another monitor with a bluetooth keyb/trackpad combo?
i want the touchscreen so i can fiddle with it as i drive... but i dont know if this is possible...

    comments?

PS. i also got a piggyback ECU hooked up to the book forgot to mention this lol

Probably not what you need, but an interesting peripheral nonetheless.

Throw one of these 15" touchscreens on an articulating arm. Or one like it...

The OP may not want one of these, but I do. The text at Think Geek says that Mac OS X requires (paid!) drivers. Do you know whether one of these would work on Linux?

Hi, I want to do this also - I already have a touchscreen in the car, its a 7" screen with inbuilt touchscreen, has USB connection and power, VGA, composite video etc on a cable loom. Works perfectly on a previous in-car PC.

It even gives you a wire which, when grounded, switches the screen to its composite input - for a reversing camera for example.

I'll dig out the make/model if you're interested, I got it from Ebay.

But can you tell me please how you rigged up the remote power button? I wanted to make the AAO come out of hibernation whenh the external power returned, but I don't think that can be done.

    Thanks

    Andy.
