Card Reader and Brightness Help

    Ive installed xp home sp2 onto my a150, ive used official drivers from the acer website. I cant get the card reader to work using the driver, any ideas??

    Also how do you change the brightness in xp?

    Did you try putting in an SD card when installing the card reader driver ?
    It's FN + Left & Right buttons to change the brightness but if you have a newer BIOS than v3114 then your brightness won't go down as much as it does on newer BIOS's.

    Why do you need a card in the reader to install the drivers for it?

    Ive put the brightness down to the lowest level is there any way to make it go lower then that because it is still bright

    Why would you want the brightness down? If you are trying to save battery life, I don't believe it works well on this. But that's just my opinion. Because it's a LED backlit display, and LEDs don't use much power anyway.

    Downgrade the BIOS to 3114 but then you run the risk of corrupted BIOS.
    Some people will use the Intel graphics properties option to lower the brightness but it is not the same thing, imo. It does lower the brightness but not in the same manner as doing it using the FN route.

    Ive sorted out the brightness but I still cant get the card reader to work!. I've put a sd card in and it has found new hardware but nothing under my computer. Next i have tried installing drivers again but I still get no drive under my computer. Any ideas?

    Did you by any chance formatted and partitioned the SD card? The SD card might not have been preformatted and partitioned.
