I have a problem installing CardRdr.Jmicron_V.1.00.16.01. I downloaded it several times from different sites including the original one (support.acer-euro.com). During its setup, I permanently get the message "Shi1.tmp has encountered a problem and needs to close". Although my AA1 does recognize a card without this driver installed, when the card is inserted, I always get ennoying message about a "new hardware found" bla, bla, bla... and I have to proceed through a countless clicks to get the message that the device will not be working properly :( .
    Any advice ? Thanks !

    Location:
    Japan.
Try installing the driver through the Device Manager.

I can't find the appropriate device in the list. Do you know, where is it hidden ?

OK, the problem is resolved. After inserting a SD card, the "Found new hardware" message appeared. I went through the manual installation of a driver and browsed to the folder I have downloaded. There, I checked the Drivers/x32 sub-folders and Windows found the required driver. Thanks for the tip, GvidoR !

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have the same problem... except margol's solution didn't work for me :(

If I insert a card into the left card reader slot, Windows doesn't find the required driver, not even when I manually specify the location like margol said. When I insert a card in the right side slot, it does find a bunch of drivers, but they don't actually work. It says "Cannot install this hardware" and "The required section was not found in the INF"... it's almost as if these are not the right drivers for the hardware. (I tried all of them)

I'm using Windows XP SP3, and have the Acer Aspire One A110L (it originally had Linpus installed). I've tried re-downloading the (presumably same) drivers from the A110 folder and the A150 folder from Acer's FTP site, but they all give the same problem.

Also, unlike margol, mine doesn't even recognize the cards at all without the driver installed :/

Any ideas? The card readers both work fine under Ubuntu and Lubuntu, so there's nothing physically wrong with them.
