Just wanted to pass along that after installing the latest Realtek High Definition Audio Driver (R235) from the Realtek site killed my internal microphone. Used a restore point to return to the default microsoft HDA driver and the microphone works again. I think I still have a copy of R234, so I will install and try the mike again. FYI, I am running Windows 7 Home Premium RTM (doing a clean re-install to go from Ultimate to Home Premium).

Update: Installed R234; microphone still works. May try to install 235 over 234 and see what happens... For now, recommend avoiding R235.

Same is true with 5.10.0.5905 in XP.
A rollback to 5.10.0.5817 got the internal mike back in business.
