CDW receiving 160gb/6 cell in Onyx Black soon.

I just ordered the A150-1049 with 160gb/6 cell in Onyx Black from CDW.com. They just called me and told me that they expect to receive their shipment on the 22nd of this month and will send out orders right after they receive them. It was the same price as Amazon but I had to pay sales tax and shipping so it does end up being a little more expensive.

 

Unlike Amazon.com, at least you have an estimated date. Thanks for the info! The white 6 cell Aspire one is listed to have an estimated date of 12 days on CDW website.

 

wow, availability there now shows 4-6 days.

 

3 to 5 days now. I was so tempted to order from them. But, with $10 shipping, $8 CA Recycle Fee, and $31 tax, the total comes to $449. That's $49 more than I'm willing to spend. I guess I'll be waiting until Amazon.com has it in stock. :cry:

 

New to the forum.

I just placed an order for a blue AAO 6 cell at CDW just now. I got a call from a rep and was told that they were slated to get 200 blue mid October and another 200 mid November. I was 361 or so on the backorder que.

He looked for the other colors stock and confirmed that there are expecting to receive 200 black 6 cell on Monday. He also told me that I would be 101 in the backorder que. So I changed my order

So by my math, if you are in the market for a black AAO 6 cell, there are possibly 99 slots left in the backorder que up for grabs.

He said if there were received on Monday, I would have mine by the end of the week. I am so pumped. I have wanted a netbook since the niche was created, and the AAO 6 cell is the best in its class.

I ordered the Onyx black from CDW yesterday and am like 86 I think inline for that color which there will be 200 of. I originally wanted blue but didn't want to wait and wasn't concerned about color that much as long as not the brown one. Black should be in at CDW on Monday because they already left Acer and are in transit according to CDW. Amazon.com was a little cheaper on the Aspire One netbooks (due to shipping & tax for certain people depending on your state) but are lacking horribly in service and information available.

 

Is this the US keyboard or the international layout?

EDIT: Just ordered mine online. From the picture on CDW's site, it looks like it's the US layout, but I'm not positive.

How do you know what order number you were? Did you call or something? I was wanting to buy off Amazon as I had a ton of gift cards and could of got the AA1 much cheaper from there. Had to pay sales tax as well :\

 

I just ordered the Black one from CDW too. Again how do I know if I am one of the ones that will get one of the orginal 200 batch?

 

I'm assuming you can just call their 800 number tomorrow when they're open. I plan on doing that in the morning to maybe change my shipping option if possible. I like UPS more than DHL.

 

cdw no longer shows the number of availability days. looks like their scheduled stock has been met.

 

Just called them and spoke with a friendly representative. He let me know that they're showing an expected shipment from Acer today, but they haven't received anything just yet. However, he said to call back later in the day (~4PM CST) to see if anything had come in, since they receive shipments throughout the day.

 

I just spoke to CDW. Here is the list of computers, their estimated delivery dates to CDW and number expected.

150-1447 (Blue) 27 Sep 300 on order
150-1049 (Black) 22 Sep (Today) 50 to their Las Vegas warehouse and 150 to their Vernon Hills Illinois Warehouse
150-1126 (White) 15 Oct 200 On order
150-1983 (Brown) 3 Oct 200 on order

The 1049 has 118 people signed up and only 85 have thier credit approved and ready for shipping. If you want one fast, this is the one to get. If you want a Blue, Black, and White then you have a couple more weeks to wait.

I currently have a white on order through Amazon but I'm thinking about breaking down and ordering from CDW. The price is the same and they will ship to my military APO mailbox, Amazon will not.

Thanks for the update. I actually got a call on my CDW order this morning bright and early (what a refreshing idea). I placed the order on Sunday the 21st for the blue Aspire one. The rep told me that the blue was backordered until November, she told me they were expecting an order of black Aspire One today and wanted to know if I wanted to change my order, of course I did... So hopefully getting it this week. I will update if anything changes.

I also order a white Aspire one from Amazon, but with the shortage of these things, if it ships soon, I will probably sell that on ebay and make a little coin.

Anyone gotten their shipping info from CDW yet? My Account on their website shows estimated ship date of tomorrow (9/23/08). Just curious.

Bad News...

My estimated ship date on the CDW website was just changed from 9/23/08 to 10/7/08. I guess the shipment did not arrive at CDW. Did this happen to anyone else, or did I just get screwed?

Mine shows the same. I am pissed because CDW told me several times even today that they had already left Acer and were on there way to them! They said they would be here today and tomorrow for sure. I was assured they WOULD be here on time because they already were in transit! I hate being lied to.

 

The same has happened to me. I just tried to call but I got some rude moron who knew nothing so I just hung up and sent them an e-mail. I'm really pissed because they only reason I ordered from them was because of their ship date and I canceled my Amazon pre-order this morning after being reassured that they would ship tomorrow.

I may have to just go with the 8gb SSD now because I needed it last week!

 

I just got my CDW quote and it looks like the 1049 ETA is now Sep 24th. The 1447 is Nov 27th (I doubt that date is correct) and the 1083 is Oct 3rd. I think the black is still going to be the fastest to recieve. I'm giving Amazon one more day and then I'm pulling the trigger on the black one!!! Cheers...

I got all jazzed up today only to be let down. I guess to stocking wait continues. I kinda of wish I would have kept my Buy.com and Amazon.com pre-orders alive. I could have saved on shipping and tax.

Who is to blame here? CDW or Acer. My guess is Acer. Thoughts?
