CDW receiving 160gb/6 cell in Onyx Black soon.

I have one still on order with Amazon and I haven't heard a peep. I don't know when they are going to get their shipment and what they ordered. I'm sure Acer is churning these out as fast as possible but worldwide demand has been tough. Canada and Europe (I live in Germany) got these a couple of weeks ago. The US market was next and it takes time to manufacture them and get them on the slow boat from Japan. Patience is a virtue right... more to come as I figure it out. Chers... CHip

 

Ok, had enough. Cancelled my CDW Black version and my Amazon Sapphire Blue version and going down to my local microcenter to pick up the 120GB version for $350.00. I am travelling from next week and can't wait around any longer for the 160GB version. Good luck everyone!

 

I would say that supply problems are almost invariably the fault of the manufacturer. However, I'm too excited about possibly getting one of the first black models to care.

Just spoke with another helpful rep, he said that they should have gotten them in today but not everything had been scanned in. I'll call back tomorrow, probably early afternoon if I haven't received an e-mail with shipping information. He did say he would expect to see them ship tomorrow.

On another note, I find CDW's customer service highly commendable. They've been very helpful and considerate.

 

I would agree with you about CDW's customer service being great, with the exception of the one guy I spoke to today, but I'm not going to let one bad employee damage the image of the rest of the helpful employees I've spoken to.

I'm also waiting on the response to my e-mail if I don't here back from them by the end of the day tomorrow I'm just going to cancel my order and buy the 120gb version from microcenter. I'm just out of time and can't wait any longer, I need a computer for school immediately.

 

I had asked about if I made the list in an email. They actually called me and gave me the info, very helpful.

The one in Illinois is to receive 150. I made the list the lady assured me. She said that 80+ did not make the order in time and were placed on the back order list. With shipment expected to go out tomorrow they said at least. Live downstate Illinois so hopefully won't take long

Few days ago. They just changed my date as well. Was still the 23rd when I checked it at work 2 hours ago. Your post made me go back and check again. It it is now the Oct 7th for me.

 

As soon as I left my last post I called CDW on my way out the door and they said they will still be in tomorrow and will ship out tomorrow. 200 will be in and 16o something were order so far so some can still be ordered. They said they just placed another order of them that is scheduled to come in Oct. 7th and the system automatically updated all the old orders to that date, but not to worry they tell me all is fine.

We shall see.

 

150 at IL. but 200 total and they have told me several times that they have not sold out of the 200 yet. I don't know why you were told 80+ didn't make the order? I have been told they were not sold out by live chat, email and sales over the phone on 6 occasions by 5 different people.

When did you place your order. maybe they were confused and was telling you the backorder list of people before you. Because if you placed it Thursday night or Friday morning then that number would have been the backorder number of people. because we all are on backorder until they arrive and are scanned in.

 

According to the sales rep I talked to last Friday around 4:30 CST, I was 101 on the back order list. I don't know how 80 didn't make the list.

I hope what others said is right and the date was updated to 10/7 but us in the first 200 will ship tomorrow.

That's a good move. That's what I have had (the 120GB) for about a month now (and using at this moment) since buying at a local Best Buy during the day or two they had them in stock. At this point, If I was anywhere near a Microcenter I would rather drop in get it and get it home and working than have to wait for the uncertainty of when the 1447 version will actually arrive to the retailers and then get shipped to customers. Having the 160GB is not a big deal to me but the 6 cell would be nice although not a necessity in my experience. I have traveled with the One and used it around the house and have had not regrets in getting the 120GB version a month ago. Plus I love the blue.

 

I was going to get the $349 version at Micro Center also, but by the time I paid the gas, I figured I was better off to get the newer one. I don't care about the extra 40GB but I DO care about the 6 cell battery and at around $100 to upgrade I said heck with that. I'm not that far away but don't have any reason to drive from Dayton to Cincinnati for anything else right now or I may have already bought the Blue 120GB 3 cell one.

But if CDW keeps messing around I'm going to cancel my order and seek out the possible version in Europe with the newer X3100 graphics chipset that Acer told me about, if it exists. I guess them as well as many other manufacturers test out all the new stuff in Europe and then later on we get it (maybe).

 

I hope you all are right about tomorrow as the ship date and scanning them in and whatnot... I was bummed out when the status changed to backordered until Oct 7th. I ordered a white one from CDW as well just in case it came in first, but if they ship the black out tomorrow then I will cancel that order. I still have a blue on order from Amazon, and If it ships soon I will sell on ebay.

My estimated ship date on the CDW website just changed from 10/7/08 to TBD.

Anyone spoken with them today?

I am too frustrated to call them. It is getting old. What happened to being here on 9/22 and shipping 9/23 and having it by the end of the week. So frustrating.

I was willing to pay the tax and shipping premium in order to get it sooner. Now I'm not so happy about it.

 

I'm on live chat with them right now trying to figure it out.

 

CDW just told me the black one came in today and will start shipping today or tomorrow. The white is due in early next week. Cheers!!

 

I'm still talking to them but so far all they've told me is that they're expecting a shipment on 10/15. I'm trying to get answers on how this can be when Acer supposedly shipped 200 hundred to them on 9/16

Edit: The live chat rep. is going to have my account manager call me. Will update after I speak to them.

2nd Edit: Just spoke with my account manager over the phone and she told me also that they had just received the shipment in the wharehouse so my order should be processed and shipped out today.

But it looks like if you haven't already ordered you would have to wait until the middle-end of October to receive one unless there are any left from this original shipment of 200.
