CDW receiving 160gb/6 cell in Onyx Black soon.

Super Warehouse has the black currently in stock for $408.99 but they have free shipping and they only charge sales tax if you're in California (Which sadly I am) or Mass.

No, I don't think they took any pre-orders. Their phone lines open at 5am PST so I'm going to call them and see if they truly are shipping it, and if they are I'll call and cancel my order at CDW because I doubt I could make my money back selling a second one on Ebay.

 

Hopefully it works out for ya. Could have saved me about $35. I went as far as I could without entering CC info and it was letting me order 999 of them, I doubt they have that many. Hopefully their site stays up to date on that. I never heard of them so I wouldn't know. But if they didn't take any pre-orders there is a good chance they got the black in yesterday too. I wish CDW at least had free shipping! :evil:

BTW, just out of curiosity ,anyone know why CDW is $1 higher than CDW-G on this?

 

UPS had already started transporting mine it is now in HODGKINS, IL. as of 4am. Started in Addison, IL.

I'm curious though about those coming from Nevada. Even if the 50 ran out why wouldn't they go on queue from IL.? because they didn't sell out by the time many of you placed your orders.

I don't know, but I did just get an e-mail from my account rep (in the middle of the night???) saying that the product I had ordered is on backorder and they do not know when it will arrive. I ordered on Sept. 17th and they told me that it had arrived and would ship today. It must be something with Neveda but then I have no idea why they wouldn't just ship me one from IL. Oh well, now I'm really glad I placed an order at Super Warehouse. I'm cancelling my CDW order immediately. I've had enough of this.

 

I live right by the CDW in Vernon Hills. Odd that the initial scan was out of Addison, since CDW does have a distribution center in VH. Hodgkins is the massive UPS depot outside of Chicago. So it should be shortly out to you guys in the region.

I preordered mine at Amazon. I'm rather surprised that there has been nothing coming from them. If CDW and a few other smaller sites are already shipping them, why all quiet on the Amazon front?

 

I don't blame you, they should have automatically have had it set to ship from IL. when the pre-orders went past 50.

 

On Reseller Ratings there seem to be a lot of horror stories with Super Warehouse order fulfillment, website showing item in stock when it's not, etc. There are also enough additional concerns posted about CC refunds taking far too long / requiring far too much headache to receive that I think maybe this one should be cautiously ruled out, especially on an item like this where retailers seem overanxious to claim stock based on promises of shipments from Acer.

If CDW can't come through I'll just wait for Amazon or, preferably, Newegg. I have been burned by too many second-tier e-tailers in the past. Of course this may mean I'll never see one at all, but oh well. Having waited for a viable 6-cell unit since the Wind was announced, I am really tired of the netbook waiting game. It just seems like one unfulfilled pipe dream after another with these machines.

 

Did you preorder the Onyx Black there? Although there's a product page, they have not yet offered the option to preorder the OB from them to my knowledge, and I have been looking in earnest daily.

edit - yep, just looked again, shows "Out of stock" with no preorder option, "You are signed up to receive an e-mail from us when this item is available." Someone was selling one for $405 from the third-party seller section yesterday but it looked pretty sketchy - the unit's gone now in any event.

 

I really don't understand what the problem is with all these people saying they can't wait anymore or that they are tired of waiting. I ordered from CDW on Monday on advice of this forum and mine shipped last night. I have a serial number and tracking number and will have it by Friday. So basically 4 day wait to get this impossible to find netbook. I could probably put tie thing on ebay and make a few bucks the way you people carry on about it.

 

I don't understand how you placed your order on Monday and you got a tracking number while some of us placed an order last week and got put on backorder until 10/16? That's just wrong.

Called all the places listed and none of them have it in stock. Super Warehouse says they are just waiting for stock according to the guy I just talked to.

 

Well, obviously your order being filled is a product of your advanced intellect and not sheer coincidence so you really should feel entitled to jump on any board you feel like and tell everyone that has been waiting for weeks or months that they are not only less fortunate than you but clearly just inferior.

 

Wow I think we just found out why you haven't gotten yours yet. I would imagine most of the people who are complaining are the same ones who called CDW 6 times a day and harassed customer service reps. Everytime I talked with my rep I was nice and I always said thank you. I was never rude and I never demanded anything. That is not the way to get things that you want. It wouldn't suprise me if some people were bumped because of their attitudes. As far as the waiting game. I have been waiting probably just as long as you have. I missed the opprotunity to prchase one at Best Buy and I have had a pre-order at amazon for as long as I can remember. I just simply took the advise on this forum and placed my order. No special treatment, I was just nice to everyone I talked to on the phone and through e-mail.

I will say though if you live west of the Mississippi that your order was probably coming from out west and that is why yours is delayed. My order shipped out of IL and when I placed my order on Monday they still had 30+ spots available. Don't know if it was possible to call them and ask them if they can ship your order from IL or not. I guess the important thing to remember is that Acer is shipping units and these things will be everywhere in the next 2 weeks or so.

 

I doubt this. I was friendly with every rep that I spoke with, and only called a few times (not more than once a day). I'm still backordered and just received an e-mail from my personal account manager. This is apparently what went down: Since I'm a new business customer, their credit department was more strict and they took more time to approve my credit card. By this time, the remaining stock had been fulfilled and now I've been put on backorder. This is particularly annoying since I just read this:

My credit card had a charge pending on it on Monday 9/22. If AFflyer71 ordered Tuesday 9/23 or even Monday 9/22, I should technically be queued before him and should get one of the units. They shouldn't have just released stock to people because others hadn't been approved. If you're in the queue earlier, you should have one reserved in your name. Then, IF your payment doesn't go through, they can release it to someone else. That way you still preserve the fact that you preordered first and can receive your item in the order in which it was ordered.

 

Ordered Tuesday from CDW, shipped Tuesday from CDW, tracking number this morning.

 

wow, I find it pretty hilarious that after calling so many posters here whiners that you would try to defend yourself by talking about how nice you are.

If someone who was not a complete jerk would have procured one of these beauties in the way you did they would have assumed one of the following:
1. Sheer, crazy coincidence. Who knows, but wth I got one. w00t! w00t!
2. CDW's system is so screwed up that they are not filling back orders before new ones, but wth I got one. w00t! w00t!
3. Some unscrupulous sales person bumped my order past back orders so they could get the commission for the sale. Kind of sucks for the other guy that got bumped, but wth I got one. w00t! w00t!

Then someone who was not a complete jerk would have posted here for the benefit of the rest and said, "I am not sure how it got through, but I got mine and here is how I did it." Then the posters here would have congratulated and thanked you and you could get back to waiting for your One.

Unfortunately, you choose the path of finding yourself superior to everyone else on your 3rd post here. Good job. ORION, FTW!

For the record, I haven't even tried to order one of these. I have just been following this thread to see where people are getting them from. Now I know how you got yours, thanks.

 

I can't believe that!! I ordered mine on Sept. 17th and last night I got an e-mail from my account rep saying mine was backordered until 10/16. I'm so upset by CDW's horrible system right now. That's the very last time I'll ever order anything from them again.
