I have officially added CDW to the Retailer Hall of Shame thread on:
    viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3894&p=27354#p27354

I am awaiting my second "shipment arrival date" from PC Connections which slipped form 9/18 to 9/29, is anybody willing to take bets on the shipment's arrival?''

How do you suppose these items get shipped? If by boat you would think the stores would know exactly how many are coming and when they would arrive. This bit about finding out the expected arrival date that they have ot come in or were shorted is absolute BS! It appears that everybody is lying throughout the supply chain.

According to DHL tracking information, mine is in my home town and should be out for delivery today.

mine is out for delivery, should be here in a couple hours.

I'll be heading to the metal shredders in a bit, it should be here by the time I'm back if UPS delivers when they normally do at my house.

Mine is in the town next to me. 20 miles away. So DHL notebook delivery wasn't a bad choice for me it seems.

Seems the emails claim mine is shipped now. Confusing CDW! So far DHL says it picked it up from Las Vegas, went to CA and I assume it'll travel backwards here to Texas. Yay? :D

Mine was confirmed delivered at 10:51 am. I can't wait to get home at lunch and tear this puppy open.

    I will post pics tonight.

I'm not looking to tear into it just yet. I want to use it for a while, but I can take pictures of the battery compartment and the 3g space as long as I don't have to move mother boards or screens around.

I'm not expecting you to open AA1. Just look under the flap - you will see miniPCI connector or soldering pads for connector only. SIM card holder is hidden behind plastic case but I'm interested if you have gap for SIM card...

I just got back home. Well I wouldn't use 3G for another year probably anyway, but would have nice to be able to upgrade without delicate soldering. I can solder very well, but that doesn't look fun.

Looks like needs to be soldered on though. I don't see anything for a SIM card or slot to add a PCI modem or anything.

The black one sure shows fingerprints bad though. But I expected that just like my HP was Might put a custom LapJack on there anyway.

:( Thanks for the confirmation though. Appreciate it.

On a related news, Asus is giving its Eee PC 3.75G in October:

Those pictures are what you wanted right? Is that the same as the 120GB version? What would a person need to do this though. Is there a place to get the stuff yet to solder on? or is the card solder on itself?

I did see a sim card slot behind the battery. It looked like a piece of plastic was covering the opening though.

This is off topic, but I got to play with the AAO during lunch (manily watching the initial set-up and the acer set-up) and it is tiny. The pictures make it look much bigger because there is no scale. The 6-cell hangs out, but not that bad IMHO. The keyboard is going to take some getting used to, but I am happy so far.

It goes nowhere though (SIM slot). If you open the screwed in panel near it on the bottom there is nothing there.

That's the reason I'm planning to change my EeePC 901 to one with 3G functionality. Sorry Acer but I want fully mobile solution...

How far can you tilt the screen back before the extended battery gets in the way.

    Pictures would be greatly appreciated.
