I can't take any pics because it is at home and I am at work, but I would say it tilts 120 degrees before it hits the 6-cell. It seemed like a good viewing angle with it sitting on my desktop tilted all the way back, and me sitting above it looking down at it.

I keep a mini bluetooth dongle in the left side usb port which connects with my Verizon Wireless Blackberry to access the VZW 3g network throughout the US. Results in my 3-cell 120gb One being fully connected most anywhere, even where there is no wifi. This should work with Vodafone and other 3g service providers in the US, Europe and elsewhere as long as one gets the software and suscribes to the service provider's data package. No reason to wait imho for a netbook to have the 3g antenna installed internally.

What software do you use on the blackberry to use it as a bluetooth modem? That is exactly what I'd like to do. I know that Verizon offers a paid "tethered" option to do this. It would be great to avoid that charge if possible. Thanks

why under task manager is there are two separate cpu status windows? when I had single core CPU's a few years ago there was only one graph not two. also there are two cpu's listed in the device manger. anyone know why this is?

I see it has hyper threading technology (2 threads) so maybe that's it because I Know it is single core. I wish the dual core Atoms were out and in products though.

It's a monthly fee for the data package, just like a voice package, and the software is provided by VZW. It's a one click connection to the VZW network so it works very easily. The bluetooth eliminates the need for the cable tether so its very convenient and low profile. I am not aware of any 3g service provider that provides its data service free. Maybe one day it will become a loss leader like long distance has become (for mobile phones) and be virtually free while they make their money on video and other extras.

    Thanks so much tapout!!

I was worried when i saw initial pictures of the bulging battery and tilt ability, but those pictures alleviate my concerns.

    It looks fantastic, enjoy!

I have an AT&T Tilt and I can do it using the regular data package (with WinMo Pro's Internet Sharing App) that I have on my phone (they have teathering data packages as well). This probably violates my terms of service and would allow them to charge a useage fee instead of a monthly fee on the data that I use. I might use it in an emergency, but it is not something I see myself using daily for long periods of time. So, I think I will be fine.

Due to the closed blackberry OS and service packs, you will probably be required to sign up for teathering. Windows Mobile is a litter freer in that regard.

Short bursts like e-mailing an important document or firing it up to get a phone number or an address is probably okay. Surffing the web and normal everyday internet useage is probably not okay.

Awesome pics man. I got mine at lunch and made the mistake of taking it to work. After everyone got their hands on it I could tell how much the fingerprints showed. :)

One thing I've had to fix already is to turn power save mode from the network card to off. Maximum power save was dropping packets like mad!

    thanks.

I stopped by walmart a bit ago and got a Targus 10" portable DVD player case to use, seems like it might work pretty well.

I did the same thing tonight. I wanted a planner to carry it around to places like starbucks and panera, but I couldn't justify spending 30-40 bucks on a planner just to rip out the 3 ring binder and contents to fit the thing. I didn't care for the DVD cases I saw. I have plenty of bags. I just wanted something to carry it around and put in my bag for travel.

I found an old planner at home and tore the rings out and it barely fits, but it will work for now.

The audio leaves a lot to be desired, but overall I am still happy.

Was there a protective sleeve included with the black 6 cell Aspires purchased from CDW?

nope. I heard maybe only the first batch of them from the 3 cells got them.

I don't like this DVD player case as much as I thought I would. It would be perfect but for the metal D-Rings inside for the straps to hook to for putting it over the back of your car seat. I also don't like how it straps the netbook in. I guess I could cut the webbing on those d-rings and remove them, but I don't know. The only other thing they had was those neoprene bag things, but that doesn't have a place for my wireless laser mouse. I might return the DVD case and seek elsewhere. anyone else find anything nice?

That is exactly what I wanted too. I have briefcases and bags, I don't need another one. I just wanted something to kind of protect it when I went to a panera or starbucks for a bit, but be able to slide into my briefcase when necessary. DVD bags with straps and handles don't cut it.

I heard a rumor somewhere on the forum is you call Acer customer service and request one they will send it to you.

If you have an invoice number on your order status, your tracking info is there. If you used DHL it took a little while for it to hit their tracking system, but if your CDW order says it is shipped, it is. You will be joing the rest of us very soon.

    How do you do that?

I noticed this wifi card doesnt have near the range that my built in wifi on my HP did though, kind of wish it had better range. Or an ext. antenna plug.

The right touch pad button is dropping down further when I press it than the left is? The right button (left side of the button) drops real low and the other button doesn't. Don't tell me this thing is so cheaply made it falls apart after only a couple uses! It still works but I think I might check into the button raise mod on here.
