    Hi, I can deal with having Firefox 2 and not 3, but I don't like the browser icon that the AA1 has. I would like to change that icon to the Firefox one, please help!!

    I thought it was only me who hated the default browser icon - bizarrely the firefox icon file is already present, so just need to change Icon entry in the .desktop file as follows:

    alt-F2 terminal window
    $ sudo mousepad /usr/share/applications/linpus-web.desktop

    find line:
    Icon=acs_firefox.png
    remove acs_ from start of filename so it becomes:
    Icon=firefox.png

    save and close, then reboot and you have the beautiful firefox icon on desktop.

    Aside: you CAN install firefox 3 on the One without completely breaking the desktop.

    See here for a howto:

    Do note that you have to follow it exactly. Sadly, firefox 2 is almost as deeply integrated in the Acer Interface as IE is in windows. Shame on Acer.

    no it isn't. it;s just that the firefox2 is installed from an rpm and many other rpm installed apps list it as a dependency. the correct way to do it would be to install using a firefox rpm that satisfied the dependencies of the other packages.
    I haven't tried, but I think the remi repo includes fc8 builds.
