I have just reloaded Linpus and I must have slipped up, as I seem to have selected the 'US' keyboard option instead of 'EN'
    - the usual problem - @ and " are interchanged (as well as a few others)

I've been going round in circles on this forum and google.

Is there a simple way of doing it?

I have EN in a blue box on the bottom line.

I have tried to edit /usr/bin/xkb_plugin_set_xorg.sh but it won't let me save it!

    Thanks

    Re: Change keyboard

Probably there is some graphical tool for this, but on the commandline you can do this:

In the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf is a line

    change us to gb

    That should do it.

You need to do that "as root" so the command in a terminal is:

    Code:
    sudo mousepad /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    Brilliant!
    Thank you so much.
The problem is that my Acer has been so good I have never had to get to grips with Linux, so having help from people like you is a real bonus
    Thanks again

BTW did you see my post at viewtopic.php?f=24&t=20598&start=0
    - or was that common knowledge?

That link might come in handy.
I do not own a "One" myself, but sometimes people ask me for help.

    Good Luck !

    Re: Change keyboard

How I got there was that I lost my WiFi when my AA1 slid off the settee.
At first I thought something might have come detached. That link gave me the confidence to climb inside, but when I found nothing, further searches revealed that WiFi can be lost for other reasons
    - hence the reload and the US keyboard problem you so kindly helped me with!
