Was thinking of getting an AA1 as they're down to £179 here, but would like to get a six-cell battery to extend the life. Can anyone recommend the cheapest place to get one?

The cheapest I've found is £66 + P&P which seems a bit pricey (over a third the cost of the laptop!)

mine is off ebay, will be about 18 hours from buying to me getting a text from post services at my uni telling me I need 2 forms of Id to pick up my parcel

    now im really pissed off
I bought it at 3.20 and paid the extra 2 quid for special deliery, but their post gets picked up at 3.15. And i fucking need it for a coach trip back to london tday which is 3 hours 45 minutes, had a few films I have downloaded and planned to watch.

And I'm even more annoyed because I would have bought it before 2pm, but online banking wasnt working, so i couldnt check if I could afford it, and the lecture I was in wasnt one I could not listen in (like the one now) or go on the web in, as it was a computer lab session.

    aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh

finally got it and its weird, i aussumed it would only stick out downwards, but it sticks out backwards too. its like 3 cylinders arranged in a triangle arrangement.

Please guys, we need to clear this up as there's a lot of misinformation on the forums at the moment about extended batteries. There are three main batteries available:

    Acer 3-cell
    2600mAh?
    Flush with case
    Included with most AAOs

    Acer 6-cell
    5200mAh?
    Extends behind the case
    Included with "6-cell" AAOs
In very limited and expensive supply elsewhere

    Unofficial 9-cell
    6600mAh
Extends behind and below the case
    Widely available online
Cell count is rarely mentioned, so people are ordering assuming it's a 6-cell
