Chopping HD playback

I bought aspire one 722 note book, upgraded it to 4GB and SSD, when i play HD files or HD video on youtube the video doesn't run smoothly, is there any tweaks i can do to fix this? I have installed the 32bit version instead of the 64 bit version in the stock HDD, would it run smoother on 64 bit?
