    Hi,
I'm trying to play a .avi in my Linux AA1. It comes up with a error saying:
Cannot find codec matching selected -vo and video format 0x44495658

Is there anything I can do to get around this?

    Thanks

    Location:

    Code:
    sudo yum install gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg gstreamer0.10-gl gstreamer0.10-plugins-base gstreamer0.10-plugins-good gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse libdvdcss2 w32codecs libxine-extracodecs sox lame
I believe that's all codecs needed to open all multimedia files...

Cheers ran all that and it still didn't work, got this error when I ran your command:

    Transaction Check Error:
file /usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0.0.0 from install of lame-libs-3.97-6.lvn8 conflicts with file from package libmp3lame0-3.97-16.fc8

    Error Summary
    -------------

EDIT: And still got the same codec error.

    Any ideas?

Scratch that, got VLC installed after a bit of hassle. Had a problem with it missing dependencies:

Error: Missing Dependency: libpulse.so.0(PULSE_0) is needed by package vlc
Error: Missing Dependency: libopendaap.so.0 is needed by package vlc-core
Error: Missing Dependency: libdvdnav.so.4 is needed by package vlc-core

    So I ran this:
    sudo yum install fedora-release

    And then:
    pm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-8.rpm
    yum install vlc

to install vlc. Just posted that in case anyone else has the same problem.

Or you could find one of the 75.000* topics on this that were posted earlier ;)

    Example:
    viewtopic.php?f=23&t=3770#p25335 :)

    * OK - I exaggerate. But it really is a common question, and the forum search function exists for a reason.

What ever media player you are using is missing MPEG4, part 2 (e.g.: xvid, divx) support.
