Comp won't read DVD boot disc, wont work now what?

    I called the Tech support line and have been told they don't support the Acer Aspire one with Linux!!!!!!! She has no clue what to do. The computer is brand new today- and the internet icons disappeared and the system won't connect or anything. There is nothing I can do. So I connected a USB cd /dvd player and the computer won't recognize or run the disc either!!!!! All the darn thing will do is play games, take photos - no internet, chat etc... What do I do? Daughter is quite upset since this was her xmas gift!
