    Hi all

    I have located a complete service guide for the Acer 751H. Not sure if its mentioned on this thread, but I have downloaded it and more than happy to host it at my 4shared account.

    AO751h_20090423.pdf

    Has details for installing componants etc plus the all important system checks Acer do when you send it back to them.

    Also details how to use wincrisis to flash the bios properly.

    Might help a few people.

    Page 151 highlights some troubleshooting information regarding the system freeze we have all had....

    Intermittent Problems

    Intermittent system hang problems can be caused by a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with a
    hardware defect, such as: cosmic radiation, electrostatic discharge, or software errors. FRU replacement
    should be considered only when a recurring problem exists.
    When analyzing an intermittent problem, do the following:
    1. Run the advanced diagnostic test for the system board in loop mode at least 10 times.
    2. If no error is detected, do not replace any FRU.
    3. If any error is detected, replace the FRU. Rerun the test to verify that there are no more errors.

    This may well explain why so many have come back from 'repair' only to freeze again!!!

    Heyy,
    Nice one!
    Just a quick question, is there any way i can tell if my 751h has got the bluetooth connector, i dont want to have to take it apart twice *i dont want to loose screws or void warranty*
    Where can i buy the original bluetooth module?
    Also, what are the switches on the front? On my one i only have the WiFi swich, Would it be a simple replace with the board with 2 switches?

    Sorry for all the questions...
    Daniel =)

    From memory, there was two switches on the front. the one on the left turned on the Bluetooth, the one on the right was effectivly a two way switch, push left to turn on/off 3G and push right to turn on/off Wireless.

    If you only have the one switch then I suspect you don't have bluetooth.

    As for purchasing a bluetooth module, I wouldn't bother. Its just as easy and a hell of a lot cheaper to buy aa bluetooth dongle, they are so cheap. http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/660/867/-/9223771/Bluetooth-USB-Dongle/Product.html?searchtype=genre £3.49 plus free shipping cant be bad

    Heyy,
    I have got a bluetooth dongle that i have been using for a while, i take my 751 to school and tether to my phone for internet, because the network admin wont give me the pass for the wireless. I was just thinking about looks... how about one of theses mini-pci cards, ive seen a few with bluetooth and wireless; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WiFi-Bluetoot...ultDomain_3&hash=item1c0f0c5f4b#ht_3180wt_939

    Does anyone use this? would you recommend it?

    Daniel =)
