Recently bought this netbook and want to be able to move downloaded music/pictures to my sony ericsson K770i but when i connect it with the usb cable it's not recognised. Think i might have to use a card reader but not sure which would be compatible with linux. Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks :

Hi, to get your phone connected with the usb cable you need a 'module' ( driver ) that is not installed by default on the One.
Here is a link to two modules, you need the 'cdc-acm.ko' :

    Hi Japser,
thanks for your quick reply and the posted link.
uhm, i am a total novice at this (computers in general), so i apologize for grating on your nerves...her goes:
i've tried typing su - in the terminal, then was asked for my password. after trying several incorrect ones, the following line appeared: root@localuser ...
i tried typing the mkdir ...etc, it kept prompting [email protected]ay, sudo wouldn't work at all.
could i be doing some damage to my aa1 by running things as root?
    arghh. :?

if you get a chance, i would be grateful for the help.

    Hi Lotte, you write:
so then, really, is there somebody near you who can help ?

What needs to be done ?

    ( note: I don't have a One, so there are some ?? )

    1. get this file: cdc_acm.ko , actually it turns out to be cdc_acm.zip .
    2. cdc_acm.zip lands in your downloads folder, can you find it ?
    3. it must be unzipped, right click on it, select unzip ?
    4. if that worked, now it is cdc_acm.ko , right ?
    5. You managed to become root, using su, do that now ( yes, it is dangerous )
    6. give command
    7. or give command "thunar" to start the filemanager, 'as root', moving the file by using copy and paste.
    8. has the file landed in the correct place ?
    9. give command

    and

    to return to normal user.

Hope This Helps, but really, this is not for the beginner, on the other hand, moving a file into place is not a very complex task. --Japser.
