I was trying to understand the whole Walmart/Costco machine difference, so I loaded CPU-Z. I have a Costco special running XP 1g ram. Looking at the results, the machine seems to switch between 1.213 Volts and 0.925 Volts. I am not physically changing anything on the machine to get the change, rather it is doing it on it's own. This appears to significantly change the processor speed as reported by CPU-Z. Has anyone else experienced this? Does the BIOS auto switch the VCORE to save power? Most of the time it sits at 0.925 and 798 Mhz [attachment=0:hng9y0ve]925.JPG[/attachment:hng9y0ve]

OK. I ran some simple tests and it appears it is auto switching on-demand. If I load the processor by watching HULU, CPU-Z indicates the CORE VID at 1.213 V almost all the time.

I've noticed that the VID on the machines that come underclocked is at only 0.788V when running at 6x multiplier, while the 133 fsb ones only go down to 0,925...
