hi everyone, i know there has been a lot of posts on this topic, but i couldnt find an answer to my question. i just bought a Acer Aspire One AO751h and ive been trying to play cs 1.6 the only problem is that the only playable option in the video settings is the software mode, is there any way i can change it to OpenGL?

What OS are you using? I believe that the WinXP drivers has no OpenGL support. Do a search on google for OpenGL and GMA 500, maybe you will find more information about this.

For XP i have a solution with a Beta-Driver from intel (IEGD 10.1) which enables quiet good D3D and OpenGL performance. Quake3 or Half-Life based games play very well. Maybe i can upload this driver if there is some interest.

We are talking about this driver: http://edc.intel.com/Software/Downloads/IEGD/#overview

    - Only for XP
    - Not reccomend for daily use, i.e. i can´t adjust brightness with this one
+ Solves a lot of gaming issues (Diablo 2, Starcraft tested)
    + Good Framerates for old 3D games (Quake 3 @ 640x480 = 42 FSP OpenGL, Counterstrike 1.6. = 30+ FPS Direct3D)

Here is the upload form a Sony Vaio P user: http://forum.pocketables.net/showpost.p ... stcount=19

I hope this guy has not forced the resolution the the Viao specs, please test it if you want. If it´s not working, i will try to zip and upload my files somewhere.

    Greetings,
    Felix

If you need OpenGL using the official Intel drivers try GLDirect.
    http://majorgeeks.com/GLDirect_d381.html
It is an OpenGL to Direct3D wrapper. Be sure to select Non-Shader driver in GLDirect control panel, the shader based version doesn't really work.
