    Greetings all!

I'm quite interested in having one of these machines - but I have ethical concerns about the countries of origin of a lot of electronic goods.

Please could some purchaser of a 110AW in the UK have a look at the label on their machine and post here what the stated County of Origin (or Manufacture) is.

I went into Tesco earlier today to have a look and the Electrical Desk Manager refused to open a box to check this simple thing for me - so I probably won't be buying one from there!

    Many thanks,

    Little Ears

Acer is a Far East Supplier of Computers; they advertise themselves as China and Taiwan...

Most computer parts these days are sourced from Taiwan/China; I doubt that even Philips (Dutch) or HP (USA) make ALL their own parts.. Serpently, DELL, GATEWAY and ADVENT to name the most obvious, are only assembled and 'branded' in this country.. - I own an Averatec (E1200) it has twins - 'made' by Sotec, eMachines, Advent and Twinhead.

I hope China and Taiwan are not unethical for you cos you'll be using an abacus.. which I recall was an Chinese invention...

I suppose it depends on if Acer uses slaves and childlabour - things that unfortunately are all too common in China.
