    AOA 150 - 1635.....160 GB HD, 1 GB RAM Ubuntu Linux 8.10

    Will disabling the Power Now service speed my AA1 up? It seems I did that to my old AA1 (same except 120 GB HD) and it resulted in better performance. However, it seemed that in addition to un-checking the service under

    System --> Administration --> Services

    I had to do something else. My question is will simply un-checking the Power Now service speed up my AA1?

    Question two.... does this service alter the power to the CPU (and thus speed) in accordance to the demand being placed on it at the time?

    Thank You

    The "powertop" application from Intel will show the answer to all your questions in detail and make recommendations how to improve battery life and performance. It shows exactly how much time is spent at each frequency and how much power is used.
