crackling sounds and sound delays

    just noticed that when I am playing sounds (I mean music), there is a 2-3 seconds of delay before it actually starts to play. plus sometimes, there is an annoying crackling sounds whenever I play music using the built in speaker and even when I use headphones.

    Any ideas?

    which app are you using to play sounds? have you tried audacious?
