Crackly sound in windows xp pro sp3

    Never had any problems when linpus lite or mandriva 2009 was installed. Now, audio through my headphones has wierd crackles in it which is really annoying. Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing it?

    I have un-installed the hd audio driver and re-installed it from the acer version. Anything else I could do?

    try an updated driver from realtek directly, i think they are at v2.09 now.

    i actually get the weird noises ONLY when using the drivers from Realtek.
    Using the Acer version fixes it for me.
