Hey there guys. I'm new to this so please take your time with me.
I have an Acer one netbook. I installed Windows 7 and everything was running fine until I started getting Crash Dump error messages and it wouldn't close down or shut off. Pulling the plug and forcing shut down has been the only option when this happens. It doesn't happen all the time.
Very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

When Windows BSOD's (Blue Screen Of Death) it will typically throw up a code that looks similar to this "0x00000000", if you can write down that code next time the machine BSOD's then post the code here, we'll be able to help you further.

    Swarvey, thanks for the reply..

I didn't see anything when it crashed the last time. It just went into reboot.
I have a sneaky suspicion that the fan isn't working as it should, there was a noise similar to the blades catching on something, then it rebooted.
The body is getting very hot just before it crashes.
Could it be the fan that is causing this.?
    Thanks again for your help..

It could be the fan/heatsync not doing their job, or the hard drive could be generating the temperature as well. Next time you boot it up, try tapping F8 and when the menu appears, choose the option to disable automatic reboot on system failure, next time it crashes you should get a BSOD that won't go away until you manually power off the machine by holding in the power button for 4 seconds. The blue screen should have the code you need.

    Swarvey,

Apologies for late reply, been away at work for a few days.

    I disabled automatic reboot.

I turned it on first thing this morning.
It's been running all day without a glitch, 11 hours now and it's not as hot as it was when I first posted and it hasn't crashed once all day....

    Thanks for your help
