I don't think that the Atom Dual Core is planned for any netbooks as it is designed for desktops evidently (iirc). According to initial reports it does have a single slot which supports up to 2 Gigs of RAM.

I'm just curious - Will this Aspire One also needs to be taken apart to access the RAM slot ?

I certainly hope they have improved that part of it.

I don't think it wouldn't be too hard to swap out the HDD for a 2.5" SSD if you really wanted to, anyway...

It's nice, that they have listened to the public and fixed their problems(hopefully all of them). Hell, the ASUS'es first netbook was alot worse, than Acer's first netbook(Although, ASUS didn't have anything to take example from). I'd like to see a high trend of improvement for them in the future as well. Keep it up, Acer!

    Some use N280 (1.66GHz)

For upgrading memory and hdd now is easier.

Wow! It looks perfect. They really have corrected all of the problems, you don't even need to remove the rubber legs anymore to get to the screws in the rear.
    A HDD lid? T'is amazing! Acer rules!1!11!!one!!1!!

Wow acer sure knows how to mess with people who bought the earlier versions. they could have done those doors in the bottom at any time in the revisions. that really makes me mad that they couldn't add this stuff in earlier

What direction do you think technology should go? You presumably considered yourself to have a bargain when you bought your A1. Did that change? Would you feel better if the new model was epoxied together with "no user-serviceable parts"?

C'mon. Be grateful for the blessing you already have, and don't begrudge tomorrow's purchaser an even better bargain.

Oh i have no problem if they were to even upgrade the AAO with new hardware specs. What i'm mad about, is those ram doors are an industry STANDARD. Acer shouldn't have made the mistake of not including them. Personally i love the new size and that. Those that buy it are getting a nice sized netbook ^_^

Looks like they have changed a few things. The door shown on the left under the HDD door, wouldn't be able to access the wireless card currently so maybe they put the card on the underside. Unless it's not for the wireless card now?
They must have moved the speakers too? The current models have it where the closed grille holes are on the new one.
What would be a good idea also is if they could use a bigger fan so it wouldn't need to spin at a higher speed to move air. A design cue from the MSI wind would be a good idea, that is one quiet and cool running netbook.

Doesn't look like these will get the dual-core Atom...Vaio P isn't, none of the Eees are (I think). Hopefully it gets the nVidia Ion chipset, or at least the newer Intel one (GN40 or something?)

Does it have wireless N? That'd be a good upgrade, although even I don't have N yet. Lol.

Wait, what? The power cord is on the RIGHT now? That's a bad choice...At least for me. I never plug my AAO in from the right side...
