    Hey guys,

Running Jaunty netbook remix, standard kernel.. trying to get internal mic to work with the D250.. kinda silly walking around with a netbook and a microphone. Is there anyway to install some kind of driver that will work with my audio device without going to a higher kernel?

    kernel Linux 2.6.28-12-generic #43-Ubuntu SMP Fri May 1 19:27:06 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
sound device 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)
Appreciate any help i can get.

Have a look at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AspireOne which suggest a solution. Go then to www.alsa-project.org and download the alsa-driver, alsa-lib, and alsa-utils version 1.0.20. I did it for my AAO D150 with Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix and compiled and install the drivers and now my internal mic works :D Good luck :)

Is your fan noisy or working all the time? mine, on the AAO D150 is not, it just works from time to time and the body of the unit does not seem to overheat. Let us know what you did if you succeed in getting longer battery life.
