I got my Acer Aspire One D250 two days ago. It was running on my table just fine and now all of a sudden I noticed that there is a line across top of the screen. I turned it off, took out the battery, put it back together and the line is still there!

What do I do? I'm scared!

Only problem i've had with my d250 is the keyboard. But I'm seeing more and more posts popping up about screen issues across various models. I might have to start another sticky thread about screen issues to aid in diagnosis.

You think you're scared... mine's nearly outta warranty (not that mods haven't voided it) but I'm starting to wonder how long before my screen goes cactus

So there's no way to fix it? I have to send it back?

Unfortunately no one I know has had the exact same issue, at the same time I don't think anyone has found a fix.

All I know is if Acer turn around and do their usual thing and say "no warranty for you" (monitor), your cheapest option is to get a replacement from ebay and install it yourself.

Just a wild stab, are the lines are there during post?

If you plug in an external monitor, does it display properly?

Yes the lines are in BIOS and everywhere else!
Doesn't really matter anymore because I sent it back.
Acer is starting to let me down slowly. ¬_¬

Acer let me down many years ago. I haven't trusted them since. Buying an AAO was one hell of a gamble for me. But I can honestly say I'm pretty happy with it. I don't think I'd ever go back to a "full size" notebook, as the main thing for me is portability. Followed quickly by hackability. At the time I bought my first AAO there were a few alternatives, but none thrilled me more than the AAO.

I still detest Acer though, I'd even go as far as to say the quality of their Tech Support has declined considerably. But considering the price and availability of spare parts for the li'l AAO, I'll be sticking with it for quite some time :)
