I have a D150 and wife has a D250 I have made clonezilla disk copy of both and restored it and that works good. I have the Acer Restore disk and when I restore with them I no longer have the PQService partition (6-8 Gb). It is included in the clonezilla disk copy and I have the PQService partition as a partition copy with clonezilla. Oh I am trying to get D2D working on a new drive inserted into the different computers. I have not changed the original drive and believe it will work on them but I can't5 move the option to the new drive.

Now the question... How do I get my D2D restore working? I have tried Alt+F10 with no results.

If you restore from the Acer recovery disks the PQService is not reinstalled, only the OS & Apps. Look in the posts regarding Windows 7, there is a "step by step" on how to reestablish the D2D, as 7 rewrites the MBR, you may need to do the same to get the cloned disk images to work on the new drive

    Yes it is enabled.

    Thanks for the replies.

After more searching I found out that adding Linux with Grub and the changes it makes to the MBR makes the D2D not work.

Now I am wondering if booting from the SDHC card and running Linux from the hard drive will require the SDHC card to be in the slot all the time. Also from what I read it may be possible to put a link for a particular file, in the PQService partition, into the Grub listing and run the D2D from there but I can't find anything that says which file to link to. Since I know almost nothing about Grub I'll have to do a lot of research or hope some nice person tries it or tried it and lets me know what to do. If I get it working then I'll post on the forum how I did it.

Ok I have already learned a couple things. I copied the line I use to boot into Mandriva from the hard drive and pasted it into the menu.lst on my SDHC Mandriva card. I had to change the (0,4) to (1,4) hard drive designation to get it to work but it does work and then I removed the Mandriva SDHC card and inserted a storage SDHC card with no problem. Now if I can fix my D2D function then by booting from the SDHC card I can have Windows, Linux and D2D working together.
